It’s that time of year! Give the gift of warmth and connection this winter during our Coat, Game, and Craft Drive! 🧥🎨💙
Today through November 15th, we’re collecting new or gently used coats, plus new, unopened games and art supplies. We are so excited to be partnering with The Scrappy Elephant, @sugarbearcville at Ivy Rd., @bamcharlottesville and @theendgamesva this year as drop-points! Your donations will be distributed to ReadyKids participants beginning in December, ensuring local kids and families have not only warm coats, but also games and crafts that inspire connection and memory-making during the cold winter months ahead!
Prefer to shop from home? Our Wishlist makes it easy to donate a game or activity and mail it straight to the ReadyKids office! Find the wishlist on our LinkTree in bio, or linked below 💙 Questions can be directed to Donor & Communications Specialist, Hannah Kroetz, at hkroetz@readykidscville.org

Today, ReadyKids proudly celebrated our new playground with a ribbon cutting! Thank you to project partners including COHORT Landscape Architecture, Abrahamse & Company Builders, and University of Virginia Sawmilling. A special thank-you to City Council, as well as to Anthony Warn, Grants Analyst at City of Charlottesville, and Shaniece Bradford, Director of Community Engagement at ReadyKids, for building the bridge to make this project reality.
The renovation includes improved accessibility with clearly defined paths, a chalk wall for creative expression, and nature-inspired play features. This outdoor space is an extension of our vision for this community, and provides a place where children can play, feel safe, and simply be kids.

When families receive diapers, they’re also receiving relief from financial stress, support for their child’s wellbeing, and the peace of knowing they can meet their baby’s needs. Our Healthy Families program works with new parents, and is always in need of wipes, diapers, and pull-ups, in every size. 🤍🧺
This Diaper Need Awareness Week, contact Donor & Communications Specialist Hannah Kroetz at hkroetz@readykidscville.org with questions or to coordinate a diaper drop off! Prefer to shop from home? We have diapers and wipes on our Amazon wish list (link in bio!)

Join us in wishing Chaya the happiest 6th birthday! 🎉🎈As one of the therapy dogs at ReadyKids, Chaya provides comfort to kids during counseling sessions as a calm, caring presence. Her sweet personality and big smiles are a joy to have at our office!
When she’s not in session, Chaya loves long walks on the beach (and Little High Street!), playing with her office mate, William, spending time with the kids that come to ReadyKids. Thank you for all your hard work, Chaya! 🐾💙

Playdates are an exciting part of childhood! When

Playdates are an exciting part of childhood! When swapping information about your child’s allergies and playdate activities, it’s important to also ask about firearms in the home.
These conversations can be awkward, but the more we have them, the more normalized they become. For more tips on how to have these conversations, you can visit besmartforkids.org.

A few weeks ago, friends, family, ReadyKids staff, and community members gathered together to honor Eddie Harris. The City commemorated his profound impact on our community through a bench dedication in Washington Park.
Eddie touched countless lives through programs like REAL Dads and Engaged Fathers & Men. We know his reach extended far beyond these two touchpoints. He leaves behind a powerful legacy of service and a deep love for his community.
Thank you to the City of Charlottesville for celebrating the life and legacy of our dear friend, Eddie. ❤️
